Redbourn Fete du Velo

July 12, 2015

So I went to Redbourn on Sunday 5th July. It was round three in the Tour of Hertfordshire.

I enjoyed shooting the Letchworth GP so much that I wanted to do some more cycle racing photography.

The Common at Redbourn was closed off for an afternoon and evening of cycle racing. The course was a little longer than at Letchworth so I didn't get quite as many different viewpoints as I did at Letchworth.

The event wasn't quite as slick as it was at Letchworth. There weren't as many races which meant that there was quite a bit of hanging around waiting for the next race to start.

I did get to try a few different things and a few different angles, so it was good to get some more practice in. It is interesting to see what works and what doesn't and which angles look good. I spent quite a bit of time lying on the footpath looking up at the cyclists as they come round a corner.

July 26th is the next round when they close off the town centre at Welwyn Garden City. I'm looking forward to that already,  The unfortunate thing is that it coincides with an American football match, which I would normally have attended. I'm enjoying the cycling so much though, that I'm going to do that instead.
